Reykjavik Winter Vacation
- What did you like most?Great Location and a great price compared to other options.Clean rooms.
- Was there anything you didn't like?everything is an upcharge. other options that include parking and continental breakfast in price is easier to budget and plan for.
Disappointing
- What did you like most?Okay, let me start off with positive things. We had a good stay at Fosshotel Baron with it's location being very close to the main Reykjavik strip, being also very close to the sea shore, as well as the staff giving us some recommendations and the breakfast being quite solid! Also something that surprised us in a positive way was the natural water that was really rich in Sulfur and was quite nice on our skin.
- Was there anything you didn't like? Now for the negatives, despite the staff being helpful when asking for recommendations, before we started our trip, we had to push it back a day due to emergency medical situation. We wanted to change our booking so it can account for our adjusted dates but the hotel just told us it's not possible and didn't really put any effort in finding a solution or a compromise. We were quite disappointed with that situation and it already being sad because we missed out on one day of our trip, on top of that we wasted around 700 USD on one night that the hotel refused to change for us. Another disappointment was the room itself. The photos show the rooms being quite spacious and bright (we got the deluxe room). In reality, it was really dark and didn't really meet our expectations based on the photos that were posted on booking.com. It was just a bit of a disappointment and moving on with our stay to other places throughout our trip, felt almost like a relief. I have to say, while walking around the hotel we saw some other rooms that were being cleaned and they looked much better, but the one we were staying at (203) was definitely not worth the price we paid.
